Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation

The Finnish Artists’ Studio Foundation is a national organisation for the purpose of providing studios to artists. It was established in 1990 to administer the maintenance of properties previously owned by the Artists’ Association of Finland.

There are nearly 200 visual artists working and living in the Studio Foundation’s studios and studio apartments in Helsinki, Espoo and Kuopio. The aim of the Foundation is to increase the available workspaces for visual artists.

Around 50 or 60 Finnish artists work in the Foundation’s studio houses in Spain and Italy every year. In addition, the Foundation produces and mediates information about international artist residences and organises residence activities in Finland and abroad.
