The State Art Commission, operating under the auspices of the Finnish National Gallery, organises an open art competition in cooperation with the National Museum of Finland, Senate Properties, and the Finnish Heritage Agency. The purpose of the competition is to solicit ideas for a work of art to be sited in the new annex of the National Museum of Finland at Mannerheimintie 34, Helsinki.
The competition is in two stages.

The competition is a general and open international art competition for all citizens of the European Union and for non-EU citizens resident in Finland who are not subject to international sanctions.
The competition languages are Finnish, Swedish and English.
The competition jury comprises the Finnish State Art Commission.
