Come to the information session of Artists’ Association of Finland on 22 of February 3.45 pm to hear about the open call for Young Artists 2023 exhibition.

Young Artists 2023 in an exhibition of today’s young contemporary artists, which will be held from 22 April to 4 June 2023. The exhibition will be seen in seven different exhibition spaces including Kunsthalle Helsinki, Galleria G, Photographic Gallery Hippolyte, Gallery Scultor, MUU Helsinki Contemporary Art Centre, tm•gallery and HAM Corner. One of the main goals of the exhibition is to reach new and wider audiences and bring them to the visual arts.

The exhibition project tests new, fair working life practices in the visual arts. The exhibition will pilot a commission model in which the organizer of the exhibition grants a separate production grant to some of the artists selected for the exhibition and employs them for the duration of the work.

In the information session, the Artists’ Association of Finland’s Chair of the board Teemu Mäki, Acting Director Annu Kemppainen and Head of Communications Hanna Hannus will talk about the exhibition conxept, open call process and jury as well as answer questions from the audience. The session will be held in Finnish at 3 pm and in English starting at 3.45 pm.

The open call for Young Artists 2023 exhibition will be open to individual artists and groups from March 1 to March 21, 2022. The more detailed application instructions and information about the open call will be announced in the channels of Artists’ Association of Finland.

Applicants must be under the age of 35 at the end of the exhibition on 4 June 2023. The artist can submit proposals for works, events or projects in the application. The application can be written on Finnish, Swedish or English.
