The new Administrative Coordinator, Laura Salo, is an experienced professional in the field of organisational management. She will also be responsible for the public art competition services.
Master of Arts Laura Salo has started as the new Administrative Coordinator of the Artists' Association on 23 May 2025.
Laura Salo's responsibilities include financial management, maintenance and customer service of the Artists' Register, acting as ombudsman for the Artists' Support Foundation and other tasks related to the organisation's administration. She will also be responsible for the Artists' Association's public art competition services.
Salo will work part-time 80%, from Mondays to Thursdays.
Laura Salo is an experienced organisation management professional, having previously worked in areas such as financial management and member communications at The Union of Finnish Writers.
"I am excited to join the team at the Artists' Association's office! It is a pleasure to work with organisational administration and to play my part in enabling the realisation of the advocacy work and working conditions of visual artists. I think this is very meaningful work," says Laura Salo.
Other changes in staff
Marketta Tuomainen, the association's long-standing organisational coordinator, will retire at the end of June. Her last day at the Artists' Association will be today, Wednesday 28 May 2025.
Viivi Kuosa, who worked as a lawyer for the Artists' Association, has moved on to new duties.
