Artistic residency at Iggesunds Folkets hus 3 - 31 May 2026
The association Konst i Hälsingland together with Iggesunds Folkets hus is announcing a four-week artistic residency in the factory town of Iggesund, along the Hälsingland coast. They are looking for one artist who wants to work with small or large local stories and create art in collaboration with local residents on site, as well as be a “house artist” at Iggesunds Folkets hus during the period.
Konst i Hälsingland is an association formed by artists and cultural workers in 2021, with the aim of strengthening art within Hälsingland. We arrange exhibitions, build long-term resources and educate young people. Behind the association is the idea that high-quality art should be available also outside of major cities. Konst i Hälsingland does not it's own premises, but collaborate with other actors throughout Hälsingland.
During the residency, you will primarily work on your own art. The residency will end with the art being displayed on May 30, 2026, through an exhibition or similar at or around the people's house. At the same time, we are also interested in developing an idea of having "house artists" at the house.
They are looking artists who:
- Have experience with participant-based art projects.
- are interested in meeting people – in their everyday lives and reality.
- are interested in getting involved in and working closely with an active people's house.
Konst i Hälsingland offers:
- Four-week residency with accommodation
- A budget for materials and production, minimum 4,000 SEK - A fee of: 35,000 SEK (incl. VAT)
- Travels are renumerated up to 2,500 SEK
- We also hope to be able to pay exhibition compensation of 7,300 SEK in addition to the fee
